Fees and reimbursement

Private / international health insurance

Private and international health insurances usually cover the cost of psychotherapy. Since the contractual conditions can differ, you should get in touch with your insurance company in advance to inquire to what extent they will cover the costs for psychotherapy with a licensed psychological psychotherapist and which documents will be required for approval. Fees are based on the “Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten” (GOP). Unfortunately, due to my healthcare mandate, I currently have no capacity for privately insured clients.

“Beihilfe” beneficiaries

Scientifically recognized psychotherapy procedures that bill according to the “Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten” (GOP) are eligible for funding. These conditions are met in my practice. You therefore have the right to contact me directly. Basic psychosomatic care, acute psychotherapeutic treatment and short-term therapy, as well as trial sessions, are possible without prior approval from the Beihilfe. Self-pay

If you choose to pay for therapy yourself, you have several advantages. You do not have to worry about any application or reimbursement formalities and you can freely determine the duration of the therapy yourself. Some people also find the discretion gained in this way to be desirable. The fees for individual or couple therapy or advice/coaching are EUR 150 for a 50-minute session or EUR 240 for a 90-minute session.

Statutory (“gesetzliche”) health insurance

I am licensed to bill systemic therapy and behavioral therapy through all statutory health insurances. No referral from the GP is necessary for this. A special feature of systemic therapy is that it can also be carried out in a multi-person setting (couples, families ...), even when paid for by the statutory insurance.

Professional associations “Berufsgenossenschaften”

Employers' liability insurance associations usually reimburse the costs for psychotherapy if it is necessary due to work-related circumstances. Please contact your professional association in good time and ask for the corresponding application forms to be sent. I will happily support you with the application.

Military personnel & federal Police

Bundeswehr soldiers are entitled to psychotherapy in a private practice. All you have to do is submit a cost assumption declaration (“Sanitätsvordruck San/Bw/0218”), which is issued by the troop doctor beforehand. Further information can be found here. Foreign military insurance programs often cover psychotherapy in private practice as well.

Couples & family therapy

The costs for couples and family therapy are generally not covered by statutory or private health insurance companies as these services are not recognized as treatment methods for mental illness according to the legal guidelines. An exception is systemic therapy for an individual, which can also be carried out in a so-called multi-person setting. In the case of family therapy, if the well-being or development of a child or adolescent is at risk, the costs for family therapy can be covered by the youth welfare office or social welfare agency. The cost for self-paying couples therapy is EUR 150 for a 50-minute session or EUR 240 for a 90-minute session.

Counseling & Supervision

The costs for psychological counseling, coaching or supervision are not covered by private or statutory health insurance companies, as these services do not constitute treatment methods for mental illness. In a written counseling contract between you as a client and me as a consultant / coach / supervisor, we will define the conditions for the consultation / coaching / supervision in advance. In the case of coaching / supervision with a clear reference to the professional environment, it is possible in certain cases to credit the costs against your tax liability.
