Während meiner wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeit bemerkte ich ein immer stärkeres Interesse an psychotherapeutischer Arbeit. Ich wollte mich intensiv mit zentralen menschlichen Fragestellungen beschäftigen und dabei wirkliche Sinnhaftigkeit in meiner Tätigkeit erleben. Daher begann ich parallel eine Systemische Therapieausbildung, die ich während einer 2-jährigen Forschungstätigkeit in New York fortsetzte. Zurück in Deutschland schloss ich eine Approbationsausbildung in Verhaltenstherapie an und arbeitete in einer psychosomatischen Klinik, in der ambulanten psychotherapeutischen Versorgung und als Dozent. Zudem folgte ich einer Ausbildung zum EMDR-Therapeuten und erhielt als einer der ersten staatlich approbierten Psychotherapeuten in Deutschland die Anerkennung zum Führen der Zusatzbezeichnung „Systemische Therapie“. Bis Oktober 2021 konnte ich 5,5 Jahre lang meine verschiedenen Hintergründe für den Ko-Aufbau und die therapeutische Leitung einer Spezialklinik für Systemische Psychotraumatologie und EMDR nutzen. Seitdem begleite ich mit großer Freude Menschen aus unterschiedlichsten Kontexten und mit unterschiedlichsten Fragestellungen in meiner Praxis und arbeite als Lehrtherapeut / Supervisor / Selbsterfahrungsleiter an unserem familiengeführten Niederrheinischen Institut - Abteilung Rheinland in der Systemischen Weiterbildung sowie in der Approbationsausbildung für Psychologische Psychotherapeut:innen in Systemischer Therapie an der APP Köln, dem Rhein-Eifel-Institut Andernach, dem IF Weinheim und dem IFS Essen. During my scientific work I noticed an increasing interest in the psychotherapeutic occupation. I wanted to deal intensively with profound human questions and issues and experience real meaningfulness in my work. Therefore, I started a systemic therapy training in parallel, which I continued during a 2-year research activity in New York. Back in Germany, I followed training to obtain my license to practice cognitive behaviorial therapy and worked in a psychosomatic clinic, in outpatient psychotherapeutic care and as a lecturer. I also completed my training as an EMDR therapist and was one of the first state-approved psychotherapists in Germany to be recognized for the additional licensed specialty of "systemic therapy". Until October 2021, I applied my various backgrounds to help set up and manage a special clinic for systemic psychotraumatology and EMDR as head psychologist for a period of 5.5 years. Now it is with great pleasure that I accompany people from a wide variety of contexts and with a wide variety of questions in my practice and work as a lecturer / teaching therapist / supervisor in systemic training programs at our family-run Niederrheinisches Institut - Abteilung Rheinland as well as for the licensing training for psychotherapists in systemic therapy at the APP Cologne, the Rhein-Eifel-Institut Andernach, the IFS Essen and the IF Weinheim.
